Birth Pool & Full Support Hire
Birth Pool Hire Terms & Conditions
When you book your hire, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions:
1. Your hire is for a Birth Pool in a Box Professional, and the hire length is for 6 weeks from your pick up date.
2. Your hire includes a birthing pool, inflating pump, drain pump, hose for filling water, hose for draining water, two hose bags, disposable liner, hospital grade sanitiser in a small bottle, puncture repair kit, instruction sheet.
3. Your birthing pool has been checked, cleaned and sanitised, and it will be supplied to you to the best out our ability in perfect working order.
4. The birthing pool is NOT to be used without a disposable liner.
5. You are required to disinfect the drainage hose and submersible pump with the hospital grade disinfectant provided, following correct instructions that are provided by Birthmother.
6. Used disposable liner is to be thrown out by the customer/hirer.
7. Emptying of the birthing pool is only to commence once the birthing pool has been completely vacated. The submersible pump and hose is not to be placed into the water until the pool has been completely vacated.
8. We recommend that you prepare your birthing pool, allowing you reasonable time to set up, and sort out if any set up issues may arise. This gives Birthmother reasonable time to rectify also.
9. No refunds will be given if you did not end up using the birthing pool.
10. Birthmother supplies the customer/hirer with a birthing pool on the understanding that it will only be used by the person on the booking, and not transferable between others people.
11. You can cancel anytime before pick up. you will be reimbursed the full amount, less $10 administration fee.
12. It is the responsibility of the customer/hirer to check all the contents for the birthing pool hire package, upon receipt. The customer must advise Birthmother immediately if there are any problems. Birthmother does NOT accept responsibility where the customer fails to do so and and renders Birthmother unable to take any corrective actions.
13. The customer/hirer would have discussed the use of a birthing pool with the medical practitioner in charge of their obstetric care, and will have received the practitioners approval to use the birthing pool for labour and birth.
14. If the customer/hirer is ‘freebirthing’, Birthmother shall not be responsible for any risk whatsoever, this includes any injury or death, that arises whilst using the birthing pool.
15. The birthing pool will only be used according to the instructions provided. Birthmother shall not be held responsible or liable for any injury or damage sustained as a result of misusing the birthing pool.
16. The birthing pool is within warranty for use, whereby the manufacturer warrants 40 uses.
17. The customer/hirer accepts responsibility for all risk from any use of the birthing pool.
18. Any and all damage that results from the misuse or neglect of the birthing pool and its equipment during your hire period are to be paid if full.
19. Should an extension of your birthing pool be required, please contact us at hello@birthmother.com.au to arrange. Extension hire will be $30 per week, where you will be subsequently charged.
20. The hirer agrees to return the birthing pool and all of its accessories to Birthmother.
21. If the hirer has failed to return the birthing pool exceeding two weeks after the hire period, and has failed to contact Birthmother for an extension, the customer/hirer will be charged $530 for the pool, and $470 for the kit, which is the retail price/cost. Birthmother will subtract the hire amount paid already $130, this does not including $65 for the cost of the liner.
22. These Terms & Conditions are governed by the Laws of South Australia.
23. Birthmother will not disseminate your information, unless required to under law.
TENS Hire Terms & Conditions
When you book your hire you agree to the following Terms & Conditions:
1. Your hired TENS machine always remains the property of Birthmother.
2. Birthmother only supplies the customer with an Elle TENS on the understanding that it will only be used by the person whose name appears on the booking form and is not transferable between individuals.
3. Refunds for non-faulty TENS units will not be provided once the TENS unit has been dispatched.
4. A refund will not be given if the hirer does not end up using the TENS.
5. In the event of cancellation the hire fee will be refunded less an administration fee of $10.
6. The success of Elle TENS is neither guaranteed nor implied, It’s effect varies from person to person, and varies between a person’s unique circumstance.
7. You must not use a labour TENS machine before 37 weeks of pregnancy; over the abdomen at any time during your labour or at all or on the head; near water or in the vicinity of children. You must not use a TENS machine if you have a pacemaker; heart disease; any heart rhythm problem; suffer from epilepsy; suffering from any acute feverish condition; suffering from infectious disease or tumours. The TENS is not to be used while driving or operating any machinery.
8. Please check with your care provider to ensure that using a labour TENS machine is right for you. You should only use your labour TENS machine under advice and guidance from your care provider.
9. The Elle TENS is to only be used following the instructions provided. A link of the instruction manual is also found on Birthmother’s website in the product hire page.
10. The hirer agrees to return the TENS machine and all its accessories to Birthmother, by the end of the hire period and agrees to drop off the return TENS hire to an Australia Post Office, to receive a lodgement receipt, to be kept for proof of lodgement just in case something goes wrong with return delivery.
11. We understand that things break, and can so unexpectedly. If your Elle TENS hire is returned to us damaged by misuse, you agree to pay for the repair or replacement costs of the machine and its accessories. If the hire product is lost or stolen, you agree to pay the full retail cost of the unit and accessories. The cost will depend on which TENS you have hired, minus your already paid hire amount.
12. Birthmother will not be held liable or responsible, for anything that may arise from the use or possession of the TENS. By hiring the TENS machine you agree to indemnify and not hold Birthmother responsible / liable for anything that may arise from the use or possession of the Elle TENS machine and it’s parts and equipment.
13. Birthmother has a privacy policy so we will never give out any information unless we have to by law.
CUB Stool Hire Terms & Conditions
When you book your hire, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions:
1. Your hire includes an inflatable CUB stool, a hand held pump, a drawstring carry bag.
2. No refunds will be given if you did not end up using the CUB.
3. Birthmother supplies the customer/hirer with a CUB stool on the understanding that it will only be used by the person on the booking, and not transferable between other people.
4. Cancellation of your CUB hire can be done anytime if the CUB has not been posted to you. You will be refunded the hire amount, less $10 administration charge.
5. The Hirer agrees to return the CUB and its accessories to Birthmother. It is the responsibility of the customer/hirer to check all the contents for the CUB hire package. The hirer agrees to drop off the return CUB hire to an Australia Post Office, to receive a lodgement receipt, to be kept for proof of lodgement just in case something goes wrong with return delivery. 6. The customer/hirer would have discussed the use of a CUB stool with the medical practitioner in charge of their obstetric care, and will have received the practitioners approval to use the CUB stool for labour and birth.
7. The CUB should not be used in the following: women who have serious medical complications affecting their labour and birth including (but not exclusively) the following:HELLP, Pre-eclampsia, Heavy PV bleeding, Placenta Previa, previous surgery to or 3rd/ 4th degree trauma to the perineum or women having pre-term labour. It is for individual mothers and their care providers to decide if the use of the CUB is appropriate or safe for their unique circumstances. The CUB should not be used in a birth pool.
8. The CUB stool will only be used according to the instructions provided. Birthmother shall not be held responsible or liable for any injury or damage sustained as a result of misusing the CUB stool. The customer/hirer accepts responsibility for all risk from any use of the CUB stool.
9. We understand that things can just break, and unexpectedly, however any damage that results from the misuse or neglect of the CUB stool and its equipment during your hire period are to be paid if full.
10. Birthmother will not disseminate your information, unless required to under law.
The Birth Sling Hire Terms & Conditions
When you book your hire, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions:
1. Your hire includes 1 x sling 2 x arm slings a hand held pump, a drawstring carry bag, 1 x door anchor and 1 x beam anchor.
2. No refunds will be given if you did not end up using the Birth Sling.
3. Birthmother supplies the customer/hirer with a Birth sling and it’s accessories on the understanding that it will only be used by the person on the booking, and not transferable between other people.
4. Cancellation of your Birth Sling hire can be done anytime if the Birth Sling has not been posted out to you. You will be refunded the hire amount, less $10 administration charge.
5. The Hirer agrees to return the Birth Sling and its accessories to Birthmother. It is the responsibility of the customer/hirer to check all the contents for the Birth Sling hire package. The hirer agrees to drop off the return Birth Sling hire to an Australia Post Office, to receive a lodgement receipt, to be kept for proof of lodgement just in case something goes wrong with return delivery.
