Birth Pool Hire Terms & Conditions
When you book your hire, you agree to the following Terms & Conditions:
1. Your hire is for a Birth Pool in a Box Professional, and the hire length is for 6 weeks from your pick up date.
2. Your hire includes a birthing pool, inflating pump, drain pump, hose for filling water, hose for draining water, two hose bags, disposable liner, hospital grade sanitiser in a small bottle, puncture repair kit, instruction sheet.
3. Your birthing pool has been checked, cleaned and sanitised, and it will be supplied to you to the best out our ability in perfect working order.
4. The birthing pool is NOT to be used without a disposable liner.
5. You are required to disinfect the drainage hose and submersible pump with the hospital grade disinfectant provided, following correct instructions that are provided by Birthmother.
6. Used disposable liner is to be thrown out by the customer/hirer.
7. Emptying of the birthing pool is only to commence once the birthing pool has been completely vacated. The submersible pump and hose is not to be placed into the water until the pool has been completely vacated.
8. We recommend that you prepare your birthing pool, allowing you reasonable time to set up, and sort out if any set up issues may arise. This gives Birthmother reasonable time to rectify also.
9. No refunds will be given if you did not end up using the birthing pool.
10. Birthmother supplies the customer/hirer with a birthing pool on the understanding that it will only be used by the person on the booking, and not transferable between others people.
11. You can cancel anytime before pick up. you will be reimbursed the full amount, less $10 administration fee.
12. It is the responsibility of the customer/hirer to check all the contents for the birthing pool hire package, upon receipt. The customer must advise Birthmother immediately if there are any problems. Birthmother does NOT accept responsibility where the customer fails to do so and and renders Birthmother unable to take any corrective actions.
13. The customer/hirer would have discussed the use of a birthing pool with the medical practitioner in charge of their obstetric care, and will have received the practitioners approval to use the birthing pool for labour and birth.
14. If the customer/hirer is ‘freebirthing’, Birthmother shall not be responsible for any risk whatsoever, this includes any injury or death, that arises whilst using the birthing pool.
15. The birthing pool will only be used according to the instructions provided. Birthmother shall not be held responsible or liable for any injury or damage sustained as a result of misusing the birthing pool.
16. The birthing pool is within warranty for use, whereby the manufacturer warrants 40 uses.
17. The customer/hirer accepts responsibility for all risk from any use of the birthing pool.
18. Any and all damage that results from the misuse or neglect of the birthing pool and its equipment during your hire period are to be paid if full.
19. Should an extension of your birthing pool be required, please contact us at hello@birthmother.com.au to arrange. Extension hire will be $30 per week, where you will be subsequently charged.
20. The hirer agrees to return the birthing pool and all of its accessories to Birthmother.
21. If the hirer has failed to return the birthing pool exceeding two weeks after the hire period, and has failed to contact Birthmother for an extension, the customer/hirer will be charged, $530 for the pool, and $470 for the kit, which is the retail price/cost. Birthmother will subtract the hire amount paid already $130, this does not including $65 for the cost of the liner.
22. These Terms & Conditions are governed by the Laws of South Australia.
23. Birthmother will not disseminate your information, unless required to under law.
